Online Vectorizer: Online raster to vector converter. Convert your images (jpeg, jpg or png) into scalable and clear vector art (svg, eps, dxf). Fantastic Paradox Converter. Fantastic Paradox Converter is used for converting your Paradox files to many different file formats, such as MS Access, Excel, SPSS, DBF (FoxPro, dBase 3 - dBase 7), Lotus 1-2-3, HTML, XML, SQL. It has a user-friendly GUI(Graphics User Interface) and it is easy to use.
You should be able to convert the tables to Access. From there you are on your own. You will have to recreate all the forms, reports, queries, etc.Hope this helps, Scott P.S. I did a Paradox to Access conversion several years ago. I don't recall the versions (it's long enough ago that it was probably Access 2.0). It's not one of my more enjoyable memories! The two programs have utterly different philosophies. Access is much more 'relational'; it's easy (and essential) to define table relationships and construct multitable queries in SQL; you can use VBA code but it's often possible (even easier) to use queriesand forms with code only added for enhancements, bells and whistles.
Paradox makes less use of relational joins and much more use of code.In addition, Paradox user interfaces are completely structurally different than Access Forms. They really have very little in common. When I did the conversion, I had to use the Paradox application more as a 'specifications design document' than as a resource;I had to create the tables, migrate the data (getting rid of a ton of calculated fields which had to be reintroduced in queries), and build the forms and reports from scratch.Good luck. This'll be a lot of work but it can be done.John W. Vinson/MVPJohn W.
I did, and I'm still doing it. I'm using Access 2007 and have a Paradox 9 DB. Importing the tables and the data was a breeze. From there you have to build EVERYTHING else. No relationships, forms, reports, Queries or code can be imported, at leastfrom what I have found.Once I got the BASIC tables and Data in Access I had to rebuild their relationships. This took some thinking on my part. Look up fields were stored as text field, so the data was there but once you changed it to a look up field all the previous datawas gone.
So I exported the Tables with data to Excel (Easier for me to work with). I used those new Excel files to translate my data using DLookup functions. Here is an example of what I had.BASIC TABLEFRUIT: Color:Apple Red 1 RedGrape Green 2 PurplePlum Purple 3 GreenThis is what I translated the data to.FRUIT:Apple 1Grape 3Plum 2With this data in Excel I took a blank copy of the Tables and made my relationship. Once that was completed I imported the data from the Excel files. You MUST import them in the proper order starting with tables that have NO look up fields in them. From there you have to build all the Queries, Forms, Reports, and code from scratch. That's what I'm doing now.
It's a lot of effort but for me it was necessary. I hope this helps. Well, first you shouldn't be using lookup fields. This has been discussed many times in this and other forums. You can refer to this article on lookup fields: your conversion of the lookup TABLES may not have been necessary. I spoke about this in another thread here. While the usual model is to have a lookup table with two fields; an autonumber ID and a description its not an absolute necessity.
If youdescriptions are short text values, then you can use a single text field in your lookup table. And, therefore, store that text value in your table. As to converting lookups, I would have done it this way:Step 1. Create a MakeTable query to create table from the values in the main table. Something like:SELECT DISTINCT fieldname FROM table INTO tlulookup ORDER BY feldname;Step 2. Add an autonumber field to the new table and make it the PKStep 3.
Add a new field to the main table naming it the same as the new Autonumber PK in your lookup tableStep 4. Run an Update query populating the new field with the autonumber based the text valueStep 5.
Remove the old text fieldHope this helps, Scott P.S. Please post a response to let us know whether our answer helped or not. If importing a Paradox table creates a lookup field in the Access table, that doesn't mean you need to leave it there. You can change the lookup back to a Text box and go throughthe procedure I outlined to create/modify lookup tables and foreign keys.Hope this helps, Scott P.S.

The point is thatthe way PDOX stored lookups was not something you had a choice about(if you used lookups), and when you import from PDOX, you're stuckwith that as your starting point. But nobody said it had to be your ending point.David W. Fenton contact via website only.
You can convert files various vector (Adobe Illustrator up to 9 ver. (AI postscript based), SVG, CGM, WMF, DXF, etc) and convert raster (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, etc) image formats.Convert to AI, SVG, CGM, WMF, SK, SK1, PDF, PS, PLT.Vector converter for raster images is a tool for tracing a bitmap, which means, transforming a bitmap into a smooth, scalable image. A typical use is to create vector files from scanned data, such as company or university logos, handwritten notes, etc. The resulting image is not 'jaggy' like a bitmap, but smooth. It can then be rendered at any resolution. For convert raster image to PDF - use my other app Free Image Converter.
